Gilbert Long

Mr. Gilbert Long, Principal Tubist in the Nashville Symphony for 24 years. He has taught at all area universities including Vanderbilt-Blair School of Music, Austin Peay State University, Belmont University and Middle Tennessee State University. Has taught at the Sewanee Summer Music Center for over 25 years.
Long is the first call tuba player for all recording session work and free-lance work in Nashville, in addition to his full time contract with the Symphony. He also performs regularly with Mr. Jack Daniel's Original Silver Cornet Band. He has a degree from the University of Louisville and continued graduate studies at Austin Peay State University.
